I’m Alex, the DJ and owner behind RJ Events & Entertainment.
I believe a great event starts long before the first song plays. It starts with understanding the people, the space, the timeline, and the kind of experience you want your guests to have.
With 10+ years in live entertainment, event production, weddings, corporate events, and theatre, I’ve learned how to stay calm under pressure, solve problems quickly, and keep an event moving when things don’t always go according to plan.
Whether I’m behind the DJ booth, behind a lighting console, or working with a team to bring an event together, my approach is the same: be prepared, pay attention to the details, and make sure the people in the room have an incredible time.

Alex was a fantastic DJ host - keeping our party of 70 guests dancing the night away last Saturday night at the Free Bird in Lumsden! Pre event, he spent the time needed to understand our musical tastes over phone calls and emails, which therefore ensured a great time was had by all. He added some extra touches with lighting and signage that our guests appreciated. Alex was absolutely amazing, and I am so happy that we found him. He and his assistant were so easy to work with, organized, professional, and kind. Alex was a blast and he nailed the music, keeping us on the dance floor all night. He knew exactly how to keep the energy going and what songs to play at the perfect time. We had so many guests tell us how great the DJ was, and he’s a huge reason why we all had so much fun! They even took a bunch of photos and videos throughout the day for us to have, which was such a nice bonus. Alex truly went above and beyond for us, from the ceremony all the way until the party was over, and I couldn’t recommend him more.
